The University of North Florida

I'm not the hardest worker, I'm not a genius, but I imagine if I went to a bigger public university I might not of had the same success I did at UNF. Since lectures tend to be smaller, teachers will know you on a first name basis. This makes getting things like advice, a part time research position in lab, or a letter of recommendation much easier (all very important for a pre-dental student).

Yes parking sucks - name a public university that doesn't have that issue. No football team was also a bit disappointing, but who knows what the future holds in that regard. John Delaney has revamped this campus. Several brand new buildings such as the student union, awesome gym/wellness complex and my favorite - the new biological sciences building. Working with new equipment in a state-of-the-art facility made 4 hour lab sessions enjoyable. The campus has changed dramatically even during my tenure ('08-'13) and it appears that it will continue on this path of development.

All of my friends have succeeded as well, several gained admission into other professional schools while others obtained well paying jobs in fields related to their major.

If I could do it over again I wouldn't change a thing, except maybe live on campus the first year (which is apparently mandatory now, a good thing in my opinion). Attending UNF was one of the best decisions I ever made. I'm quite sad its over because I have such good memories, became friends with many outstanding people, and really learned a lot about myself and my potential - a truly invaluable experience and really what college is all about. I am proud to say I attended UNF and I'm sure I won't be the last.
