Positive Negative Neutral Advice
I am a first year student here at ABAC.Quite BrightOther
I am a first year student here at ABAC. I am an out of state student. I have only been going here for three months and I am about to complete my first semester of college. Already I am going to be transferring to another school.

The students here may seem friendly at first. But in reality they are close minded people who do not accept other races to be equal to them. It is disgusting how racist these students are. The people who attend this school are mainly from surrounding counties and surrounding southern states. These students are the most illiterate and uncultured people that I have ever met in my life. The town is trashy along with its bars, especially The Gin who even has White Trash Wednesdays every month or so. Very classy Tifton, very classy. This school upholds the meaning of the "Dirty South". This place is truly an entire different world, full of people with different mind-sets than the average person.

The staff (for the most part) is very nice and helpful, and that is about the only thing that I actually like about this school. Other than that I have had the most miserable first semester of college.

If you're from the north, midwest or west, do yourself a favor and do not attend this school. You will hate it, and you will want to transfer. If you're already from the deep and dirty south and do not know proper english and grammar then this is the perfect place for you and you'll fit right in. Oh and if you come here and suddenly want to transfer like I did, you better be ready to waste a lot of money on classes that will only count as electives at any other University. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.

Question
I am a 24 Year old Natural ResourceQuite BrightNatural Resources
I am a 24 Year old Natural Resource Management (Forestry) major in my last year - year and a half in school. I write this review solely as a warning to future students and parents who plan to send their children to this school. I desperately plead that you will heed my advice.

First off, I am a transfer student coming INTO this college, from a larger university in GA, ONLY because my major is limited in Georgia colleges. Forestry is only provided by a few schools and I had family close to the area, so I figured "why not?" Huge mistake...

This "school" is ridiculously challenging for the degree that one will receive. I love challenging academics, I love learning. With that said, there is something desperately off between the actual reputation and worthiness of your degree versus the time and energy put into the degree. I WILL say though, that the teachers have been very warm and helpful. The teachers are not the problem, and if the degree was actually looked favorably upon within the business world, which it is not!, then the workload would not be worthy of complaint. The issue is, the difference between an ABAC degree versus a "real" college degree, is about the same as the difference between an expensive roll of high grade sushi and dollar store cat food....

Second, EVERYONE who goes here, and I mean almost EVERYONE, is from the surrounding local yokel communities. Like another review said, the stereotypes about rednecks are true. I grew up in GA, I am aware of what it is to live in the south, but this school, surrounding city and students are from an entirely different world altogether. A world where blacks and minorities are evil, a world where if you aren't a devout BAPTIST (not even just a christian, but a BAPTIST) then you are worthy of the fiery, eternal pits of the Devil's domain. A world where big trucks and how much farmland your family owns determines your worthiness within the peer groups. A world of complete and total ignorance, close mindedness and baffling reverse-intellectualism. This school and town is the epitome of close-mindedness and backwards thinking.

If you consider yourself a person who wants to see and know the world, who seeks a valuable education, authenticated by actual thinking, not scholastic regurgitation, then please by all means seek different avenues. If you like big trucks, muddin', field "parties" filled with 18 year old hillbilly children butchering the English language with their absurd and disgusting dialect, baptist and religious close-mindedness to the point of shunning you if you even think about anything but the Baptist church, and overwhelming racism, then this is the college for you.

Not to mention the town of Tifton is an absolute terrible excuse of a city. Nothing to do, nowhere decent to eat, ONE terrible, terrible "bar" filled with idiotic, camo wearing rednecks, and not to mention about half of the city is the ghetto. Boring is not even close to describing the lack of interesting social options in the city. It's more fun to sit alone in your room watching re-runs of the third season of Roseanne.Do not go to this school. Walk away while you still have the option. I warn you, walk away!

Question
It has been a good experence but theAgriculture/Horticulture
It has been a good experence but the students are pretty redneck and uncultured. Baptist student union is the largest oganization and run things here. It will never be a good school like Georgia Southern or UGA but at least all of the rednecks in the state have a place to go and be around more rednecks so they dont polute the other schools in Georgia as bad.
