1. Changed process of how test answers were talked about. I used to call in and we would go over the questions. I did that for 3 classes. In my 4th class, I was told that was never the process and it needed to be uploaded as a ticket.
I would upload tickets about test questions not being correct and would get a "Resolved" but no change, I would have to call in and they would confirm I was correct and make the change
2. I had a textbook that said there were associated drawings, but the drawings were never attached to my course. It took a few weeks to get those to me, but Chandler was nice enough to let me start on another class in the meantime.
3. I tried to open my 7th course and was told I couldn't because there was a semester exam due. I would click the semester exam tab and it said I didn't have a semester exam due. I called the school and they said I didn't have a semester exam due, they were unsure why I had that alert so they opened my class for me.
4. I finished my 7th course and tried to open my 8th course and was given the same "semester exam due" alert, but again, nothing listed in my semester exams. I called the school and was then informed after every 5 classes, I needed to complete a semester exam. Nothing will show in my semester exam tab because I needed to select a proctor before that would show. What should happen is if you click on the semester exam tab, it should say "proctor is needed. Please submit a proctor to Ashworth College by...." to give us some sort of direction.
5. I called to get the information on setting up a proctor for my exam and gave them the information. I was told to wait for 48 hrs for my proctor to receive the access code. 48 hours arrived and no code. I called the school and was told the person who had input the proctor information "forgot to check a box" so nothing was submitted so I now had to wait an additional 48 hours.
6. In my Cost Estimating course, the book keeps referring to the "companion website" which has spreadsheets to use while taking the course. I could not find this companion website and submitted a ticket. My ticket was "resolved" and said if I needed additional help to call. I was never given any information or a resolution at all, so it was not resolved. I had to call in, on the phone at work for 20+ minutes because I am on the West Coast, and was told there was nothing that could be done. The book is old, not being published anymore and nothing could be found about the companion site. The information from this book has data from 2013, it's 2019. The book was published in 2015. I asked why we were not issued the current book and was told: "I don't know, I just work here".
7. My proctor was leaving for vacation and I've been waiting on my grades to post. My assignment 4 paper was graded within (1) day, my assignment 8 paper took about (7) days to be graded. Once it was graded, my final grade was not posted even though all of the grades were available. I know this was what was driving my semester exam code to push to my proctor. I asked for assistance with an ETA and just was told to wait. I called to see when my code would be generated because of my proctor leaving for vacation and was told "24-72 hours". I don't know when it changed from 24-48 to 24-72. I was also making sure that the box was checked to push my code because of what had happened before. I got told wait until the 72 hrs and again it wasn't created.
8. I called the school to see what my options were for a Bachelor's program and if my "free 4th semester" would transfer into that since I didn't need a 4th semester for my bachelors. I was told that I don't qualify for the free 4th semester, which was sort of odd since I was told I did when I registered, but I understood and moved on. I was transferred to someone to help me with going over my options for Bachelors. When I reached the person to help me, he told me "go on-line and look at our catalog." Not "what are you looking into", "what might you have questions on". It was very upsetting that someone who is there solely to help guide students/potential students in the right direction didn't want anything to do with that.
9. When I was taking my final exam, the math portion was flawed and cause me to fail. I had questions "solve for the equation" but the equation was a broken image. I tried 2 different browsers on 2 different computers and it was the same outcome. I called to ask for help and was on hold for a very long time that it timed me out and gave me a failing grade for my math portion. I had IT working on this and was told it was escalated. My proctor received another code and so I tried again, same issue. I called Student Services and was told that I shouldn't have taken that test, IT was still working on the issue. a couple days goes by, still nothing. IT hasn't even gotten to the issue yet. I was thankfully provided a word doc version of the test just to take it but this was also after I realized and confirmed I could fail the test and be done with it because it was my final course of the degree program so the grade would not change my GPA or not allow me to graduate.
10. I reported Ashworth to the BBB because of the above issues, while I was waiting for my new "fixed" test to be sent to me. I felt like I was finally being heard and had a sigh of relief. They offered to rush me my degree and transcript but I didn't want to be difficult and cause any issues with a rush, but said I was fine with the 4-6 week waiting period for my degree. They did rush me my transcript, I was just waiting for my degree.
11. 11/18/19 was the date I was officially 100% complete and in graduated status, even though I was ready to take my test 10/31/19. 12/30/19 would be my 6th week after completing school so I should have received my degree at the latest by now. I contacted the school and was told, rudely, that I needed to wait until 1/6/20. As unhappy as I was with that, I thought ok I can wait one more week. 1/6/20 comes around, no degree still. I call Student Services, they transfer me to a voicemail line. I finally get through to someone and they said "well, you will have to wait 1-2 more weeks". Making my total wait time 9 weeks. 9! I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor says that the degrees are sent to a 3rd party to print and they have no way of tracking this. Not a response of "I will check with the 3rd party and see where you are in the process" or "I will check with the 3rd party to see if it has been shipped and if they can provide tracking". He just said he had no way of tracking, and then said I shouldn't have been told to wait because there's no telling when I can get it, I just have to wait.
I cannot urge anyone enough to stay as far away from this school as possible. In typical sales fashion, the admissions office is polite and helpful and gets you excited to advance your life with a degree. But once you're in you are met with rude "tutors" that are just there for a job (another comment I was told today), and you are left basically to fend for yourself. I just want to be complete with this school and never have to utter their name or think of this experience again.
I have re-opened my complaint with the BBB with them and refuse to settle with them anymore for my sanity. I will expect to be treated with the respect any paying student deserves.
