| This
program is based on the Honors Core Curriculum for the
21st Century. It is a four-year learning experience for students
of high academic achievement. Through a range of enrichment opportunities,
Honors students grow intellectually, aesthetically, and spiritually while earning a
major and preparing for graduate school or a profession. Honors
students are encouraged to participate in special lectures, plays, concerts,
etc. Service learning is an important component of the Honors
Capstone Experience. Honors students in their junior and senior years
serve as mentors for first-year Honors students. Selection: Students
are invited to join the Honors Program based on their
record of achievement and potential for academic success as indicated by such factors as high school GPA, SAT scores, level
of courses (AP, etc), high school recommendations, and placement tests. |
