The GAM department (Game Art & Animation) offers so much, but doesn't fulfill on its promises. As a for profit school, MMI exists to take students' money, gives them a subpar education and then thrust them into the workforce without any guidance or real skill attained. Many graduates end up not working in the field they studied in (as it's fairly easy to graduate with a mediocre portfolio - they seem more interested in passing their students to say they have a certain number of graduates then really weeding out the ones who shouldn't be in the field based on artistic capabilities). There is ZERO placement help, and there is a high turnover rate for the instructors.One course (a $5K course) was taught via YouTube videos.

“Minneapolis Media Institute is THE choice for students
Minneapolis Media Institute is THE choice for students looking into audio or graphics fields of employment. The facility is incredible, and though it doesn't always have the bleeding edge technologically, the faculty and services available make up for it. For recording students, the physical space is incredible, these multi-million dollar recording studios sound amazing. The main campus building is the former Flyte Tyme studios (look it up). The school seems to take great effort to hire knowledgeable, in-touch faculty. Many Gold and Platinum records line the hallways of the school. Student (and lab) services go above and beyond to make sure everyone is comfortable and confident when on campus. I cannot recommend strongly enough. This school has transformed me from a high school slacker to a gainfully employed audio engineer, technician, and producer of media.
