Mid Plains Community College

Do your own research on the classes you need to take; if anything, follow the curriculum in the catalog so the advisors don't end up costing you more money and time wasted when you can't graduate due to a "missing" course. Many students have dropped out of this school because of that BS. The advisors are not helpful even though they try act like they care. There is also a privacy issue and staff LOVE to gossip (as anywhere else I suppose). Financial Aid department is a joke; my questions could not get answered and the person seemed unknowledgeable about a lot of things she should know right off hand. Teachers are hit and miss but those that are "awesome" you will definitely hear about amongst the students and they are far and few. I was not challenged at all in any of my courses as a full-time student. When you go into a class full blast and have discussions with idiots who cannot formulate any real thought and STILL get full points and pass the course alongside with you, it really makes me think if I'm in the right place at all. It is very easy to shine here and the coursework in general is a joke. I am very pleased with my online courses as the instructors seem to be on top with getting back to you on ANY questions you have right away. All the campuses are very clean. There is a great mix of students of various backgrounds but the ones from the area come off quite on the dumb side. Overall, I feel out of place here and don't feel I'm getting a solid education so I will be seeking a University for my degree even if I have to pay more. This is a money-hungry school and that's it. Here, "D's" definitely get degrees. But for the majority, that's all people care about so I guess it could work out for a lot of people.
