The New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Starting at the school was all nice and easy, information giving to teach us was relatively easy in the first year. Then I realize something is off about the school, they keep on changing the curriculum and the schedule of classes. I was told that they have a fix schedule of all the classes, so I follow each section by the dot. Then the students out of states start petitioning for schedule changes so they can travel to the school to suit their time. I understand their situation thus no complaints. However, when I ask for a change of schedule that is done in the same petition as the others, I was rejected not only once but twice. The academic dean provided numerous reasons to reject the petition of schedule change, she just did not want to do her job and she is not qualify for her position. My fellow classmate who was having trouble with one of the class went to her for advice on how to get her grade up, the dean reply with a quick and short answer; Drop the class, if you can not handle it.

Valuble class times where we pay with our money are being use abusively. The director of clinic and the president who also teaches courses in the school as well, takes breaks over an hour for a 4 hour class. The funny thing is that they employee Teachers follow it by the dot and worries that they will get into trouble if they let us out early with no break.

Tuition price was raise twice or three times in the three year program I study. I finish in time because I kept my schedules on track. I witness fellow classmates who came one year earlier than me is still stuck in the school because of the additional courses being enforce each trimester (some of them took one trimester off in between, if you do take a break you will be enroll back into the programa but following the current program requirement not when you initially enroll, all previous credits will maintain).

In the teaching clinic there is professional dress codes that is enforce upon the students. However, I only see certain students get in trouble with it. Students who wore flip flops or jeans on numerous occassions are not being told that they have to change where as others have. Different students are being treated differently depending on their relationship with the director of the clinic and the president. If you are a patient of either one of the bosses you will get your wishes fullfill more easily than others.
