Positive Negative Neutral Advice
Teachers are hateful, you do online assignments andQuite Bright
Teachers are hateful, you do online assignments and they say they never received. You have proof on your Lake Land Email that you sent it to them, and they refuse to accept the reality of it and do not give you credit. Some instructors curse profusely and that gets old as well. Overall the college is just an unorganized mess.

Question
The biggest drawback to Lakeland is the students.Quite BrightOther
The biggest drawback to Lakeland is the students. You can get a good education there... the instructors are, for the most part, good and sincerely want to help students learn... but plan to spend your time in the company of a lot of genetic drift who will drag the level of discussion way down.

Sure, there are good students but most of the students are bottom of the college barrel. LCC is loaded with idiots... erm... "students"... who have absolutely no business in college... utterly lacking in intellectual curiosity and motivation, only wanting to do the bare minimum required to pass on to the next level of sub mediocrity. My one class, half the students were missing any given day, were never prepared when they did come, and they all blamed the teacher for their poor performance. In another class, students bragged that they never even opened their text book. Huh? And they were surprised that they got C's and D's... teacher's fault of course... but then again, they were satisfied with those grades.

I got the distinct impression that a lot of students feel like all they need to do is enroll for 2 years, and that alone entitles them to a degree and a good paying job. I shudder to think that this place churns out employees for the health care industry.

There's also a lot of pseo students, most still belong in high school not college.
Most days, I wanted to gauge my own eyes out.
As for facilities? The classrooms and labs are meagerly equipped and the desks are miserably uncomfortable for anyone larger than a 3rd grader. I also did not like the 2 hour lecture format most classes used. Too long!

Oh yeah, the students LOVE to flush rolls of toilet paper and paper towels down the toilets. VERY mature.

Question
I don't know how anyone can stand upNot so brightCriminal
I don't know how anyone can stand up for their math department. They have one of the worst math departments I have experienced. I have taken classes at other schools, but when I came back here and attended I was blown away. They have two, maybe three full time math professors. The rest of them are ignorant close minded high school teachers, who are teaching college classes part time. They treat their students like they are kids in high school instead of adults attending college. They are not helpful, and a few of the math teachers really do not know the content well enough to be teaching it. More than half the students in the math classes end up repeating them multiple times. Thats really just the tip of the iceberg. Their cafeteria stinks like spoiled food, almost all of their other classes are pathetically easy and do nothing to prepare the students for the real world.

I feel that I have completely wasted my time at this college, and I regret having ever gone in the first place. I would never ever recommend that anyone attend lakeland community college for any reason. They don't deserve to have the name capitalized. First post is right. You can do more on the beach with a beer in one hand and your penis in the other.
