Waste of time and money.Quite BrightEducation
Waste of time and money. Honestly I feel like there was a whole year of my life wasted going to this school. I feel like I am at a high school that is in Academic Emergency and doesn't have the ability to teach their students. I can honestly walk out of here saying that I did not learn one thing. Leaving this school will be the best thing for any current student to do. They invest money in pointless shit when in reality they need to start investing in the EDUCATION part of the University. In order to have a successful college there needs to be the academics first. Sports come first here at Urbana and when I say sports I mean football and basketball. Any funds raised by other programs, football gets a cut. The football program is pretty much like a mafia that uses their size to bully their way into staying in control. It's not the students that are causing it, it is more the coaches. There are some courses at Urbana where you travel to a DIFFERENT COLLEGE for the classes. Do not go to this school, your degree won't mean a thing. Many times this school has problems with placing students upon graduation. From other students I have heard that they are not even working in a career field where they studied. The technology at this school is out of date, the printers rarely work and the computer labs have computer from at least 10 years ago. Their way of upgrading the computers is put windows 7 on them when the hardware on the computers are not able to run it efficiently. The IT department is out-sourced to a company called NetGain, honestly they don't know shit. If your computer breaks on campus usually you find a student who knows computers rather than going to NetGain.

Just plain awful. Not so brightBusiness - Management and Administration
Just plain awful. Bunch of potheads, alcoholics, and underachievers. Terrible experience. Way too small, crappy campus, terrible facilities, awful computers, awful dorms, really no positives outside of the friends i had. The City of Urbana also has NOTHING to do in it. You have to drive a half an hour to do anything worth while (including just seeing a decent movie) This all explains why i transferred right after my freshman year. I WOULD NOT EVER recommend this school.

Question
Recently, an incident involving harassment was reported toQuite BrightEducation
Recently, an incident involving harassment was reported to the university. The housing coordinator, guidance counselor, and campus safety all said that there were no grounds for investigation and that it should be ignored because it would eventually go away. Physical threats were made in this incident and the university only took action after the victim threatened legal action. The university has, in the past, treated similar cases of harassment and sexual harassment in a similar manor.

Also, recently, the financial aid department often misplaces students' records.Advice: If you want a campus where you can feel safe or recieve timely help in a dangerous situation, don't come here.
