Honors Program engages students in a critical examination of the
major epochs and ideas of Western thought and culture through
careful study of primary texts. Beginning with the ancient
Greeks, the program traces the development of those moral and
political commitments, religious practices, scientific achievements, and artistic sensibilities that
have shaped the modern world. The program culminates in
a year of independent research pursued in close collaboration with a faculty advisor.
