I am a former student of Central Pennsylvania College for one year, before I decided to leave this school. Some pros but mostly cons. Firstly, the teachers here are good, and try to help students. Majority, of teachers will be helpful, and help students. They have a quartar system semester, which is good if you want to graduate early. Also a dress code, where you will be required to Dress-up in a suit & tie. Most of the Faculty/Academic staff is useless, rude and arrogant. Avoid them. Many students I've seen had problems with their refunds. Dorm life can be terrible, if you do not get along well with your room mates and mostly - people I've seen at CPC, have always had issues with room mates. Social life is pretty bad here, nothing to do in campus or nearby area, apart from sitting in their cafe, and sipping coffee. Students here, are neutral, but you will also see lots of shady, wannabes characters etc around here. Girls can be charming here. Also - There is no diversity at this school, students are mostly, from other parts of Pennsylvania - forget states. Sadly, No proper system or facility for International Students. So if your a International student do not come here. I had no problems with safety, at this school as long as I was there, they have security on duty, but this school at night, doesn't seem like its a safe place. There is a mart, and gym 5-10 mins, walk from the school. The school has a good philological approach towards its manifesto - but sadly, I do not think it is being followed to the fullest, only see CPC as a neutral small school with lots of issues.

I went/am attendig Central Penn becaue I was excited to learn about how the business world works. I thought the faculty and staff would have a very business-like attitude and I could learn from experiences with them. That is not the case. The housing is dirty. When you come in for your admissions meeting/interview they will tell you that in between each term they have a cleaning crew come and clean the rooms. That is not the case. I have moved into an apartment and 2 different townhouses in the one year and both were filthy! There was hair in the corners, the bathroom was gross, a towel rack was broken and the toilet was broken before I had even moved in. I tried talking to the Housing Director about it and had my phone calls and emails ignored. When I sent a letter to the Senior Leaders asking to be released from my lease without paying the penalty I had to call them in order to find out the verdict. I left a message and received no phone call back but received an email simply stating that my appeal had been denied with no explanation as to why. There have been many cases where I am not followed up with and I feel as though I have had to "chase" down people to get an answer or explanation. Although I would say my experience with Central Penn has been 75% negative, I have made good relationships with some of the faculty and staff. They have been able to guide me as to how to handle some of the problems I've had.

Overall, Central Penn has been a positive experience for me. The professors are nice, easy to approach and very understanding when it comes to work. The only negative I have is the administration in the business office are extremely rude at times. If you call with a question about a refund or about your account, they treat you like yyou stole something. Heaven forbid you have a refund, they'll do everything in their power to make sure they hold on to it till the last possible minute they can! Also, its not uncommon for someone to drop the ball on a major question or concern you may have with your student account. The business office has been a rather sour situation in an otherwise great experience at a good college.
