Restaurant School Walnut Hill College

Do not attend this college. There are great chefs available here. That's the only thing I can say positively about this school. The faculty and staff do absolutely nothing in favor of the students. You are treated as a customer. They host events for business partners more than they treat the students. You will pay for absolutely everything. And once you've paid an enormous amount of money, they want to get rid of you. Your diploma holds no water. They don't even treat their chefs well. 2 great chefs died while I attended, and the school did nothing more than leave a slip of paper out to notify everyone. They dropped my financial aid halfway through the year and I had to pay out of pocket monthly. If you want to pay vast amounts of money to learn some recipes and receive elementary education, attend this school. Otherwise stay far away from these scamming businessmen.

I was a transfer studen to this school so i completed my course work in a year. Each semester i had to complain about my schedule because they would put me in classes i already had. The bursars office went on vaction two weeks after i requested money from my loans for rent(the 1st avaliable date which i was allowed to request it) and never left me my check i had to pay my rent out of pocket until they got back to remberse me. Now that i have graduated i get a phone call saying they lost some of my paperwork and if they dont find it or have me redo it i am going to lose my stafford loans and have to pay them even though it is thier fault. And they are currently being audited my the feds. Teachers were ok.

The Restaurant School has lost all credibility with me. I graduated school this year with an associates in pastry arts. I am a part time student who attends at night and Saturday. The teachers / chefs are great and the only reason I stayed the full two years. The rest of the faculity is terrible. Financial Aid is not organized and is constantly messing up students finances. You can't mess with a students money. The classes are too easy and don't challenge students to turn out their best work. I have received easy A's and B's. The President and Vice Presidents are political and only care about making money for the school. When issues arised and I E-mail them, they sweep the issues under a rug. The school is beautiful and the admissions are sales people, however, they also lie. The faculity turn over is incredible. It seems that ever semester I have a new financial aid representative or advisor. If you really want to be a good culinary or pastry chef, I would recommended looking into Cordon Bleu, CIA, or Johnson and Wales. The Restaurant School should be shut down. Trust me, there are many dissatisfied students.
