This college is like any other in that, you get out of it what you put in. Some students think that a major in Culinary or Pastry is a "cake walk" (sorry for the pun) and do the bare minimum to get by. I came to school to learn. The faculty are great! and believe it or not I also like the administration. Sure, they may look disorganized sometimes but in my experience they look disorganized because they are helping students as individuals instead of quoting from a rule book all the time. I read one of the other posts saying they treat people like customers. Isn't that what we want from a school. We are paying tuition, are we not customers? In many ways this school is like the industry they teach (which is hospitality), My move in experience was incredible, red carpets rolled out on all the sidewalks, a nice lunch for me and my family, they even moved all my belongings in, I didn't have to lift a finger. I saw the earlier posts and had to write here. I have been here for three years and yes, when everyone enters it does resemble high school because that is our knowledge base. It didn't take long for all of us to grow up and focus on our careers. The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College's faculty and staff helped us with that. It is easy to be self centered and complain however looking at the big picture I am confident that I will be successful because of the college and what it has done.
