Bob Jones University is definitely a school that is dedicated to helping develop Christ honoring Christians. The rules that are so often criticized are really helpful to the entire student body. Some rules that aren't really a matter of right and wrong are simply inforced more as preventative measures, and to help everyone live thoughtfully of each other.

I find it very strange that many will say that the school is full of hate. I would have a hard time imagining a more loving campus, from students to faculty and administration. While sin is hated, I have yet to see a person hated or intentionally wronged from school authorities.

It is certainly not a perfect place, but definitely the best Christian school that I am aware of.

My college education at BJU helped me beOther
My college education at BJU helped me be prepared to face the troubles of that the world poses on us, especially as Christians. I appreciated the character building aspects of the school. However, I wish I had majored in Computer Science instead of Humanities. I planned on attending seminary so I didn't feel like majoring in something difficult like computer science. However, humanities was just as difficult with all of the English classes. After attending seminary for a year, I decided it wasn't for me. My advice to you if you think you might be headed towards ministry: major in something you enjoy or something you would like to do after graduation besides Bible or humanities. If you decide after graduation that you still want to go in to the ministry, stay for seminary. Seminary is a must for ministry, but you also have to consider that you might need a secular ability or degree in order to provide for your family after seminary.Overall the school taught me many things well, but I wish they would change some of their restrictions on students and hire better faculty members in certain subject areas. I don't mind rules, but some of them were very intrusive. Going to a secular school might be a solution, but as a student staying in a good church and being around good godly friends would definitely be a must at a secular university.
