Positive Negative Neutral Advice
I left FMU in 1985.Biology
I left FMU in 1985. At that time, FMU was OK but it was boring like hell. Florence was horrible and from the comments I read on this site it sounds like it has got worse since then, especially in the last 10 years. I hated the place. Now, because the student body has been shrinking, I heard the administration focuses more on selling the college than on education. Except for the few, there aren’t many people from Florence who are sending their kids to FMU and I don’t blame them because FMU’s degree is not worth much. I have three friends who graduated from FMU and they are making as much as those who never made it out of high school. They are very nice people but they have no skills to offer. This is how FMU cheats its students. They will tell you what you want to hear to get you in. Then, when you graduate they will leave you with nothing or thousands of dollars of debt.

Question
It is very hard to be positive orNot so brightEconomics
It is very hard to be positive or neutral about FMU. First, FMU is not really a University. I don’t know how they came up with that title. I spent there two semesters and transferred to Clemson U. It didn’t take me too long to notice the huge difference between the two colleges. In many respects, I would say FMU is more like a high school. Even students’ behavior is very much like high school. As for the quality of education, don’t even ask about it. Professors give you too much work to keep you busy and get a feeling that you are learning. Their reputation is bad too. At Clemson U, you will hear jokes about FMU students and their professors. Even in the community, you will hear about the students who graduated from FMU. I have three friends who, after getting their 4 year business degrees, they are working for minimum wage. What does fmu do about that? Does fmu care about its graduates? Does fmu provide any placement services to help its graduates to find internships and jobs? My advice, don’t waste your time and money at a school that doesn’t care about your future. I read some good stuff about Darlington Tech in this site. So, if you can’t get into CCU, Clemson U, or others, go to Darlington Tech. Check them out on this site to find out about their reputation. Good luck.

Question
This school may have the worst reviews hereSuper BrilliantChemistry
This school may have the worst reviews here and it doesn’t surprise me. However, I can’t believe how an administration could get involved in spamming this site in order to gain some positive points. When I heard about that, I didn’t believe it. But, I went back and read them one by one. First how dozen positive comments show up. Second, all of the comments sound like advertisements written by people other than students. I understand the university is having too many financial trouble and faculty/student retention. However, that doesn’t excuse the act of spamming. Moreover, the propagandists at FMU are shameless. They keep selling their diversity rhetoric even to students who know it all. Some students commented here about racism at FMU and I agree wholeheartedly. This school is mostly Christian (Baptists and born again) and about 50% of the student body is black. I am white but I have seen racism and discrimination at this school in more than one form and shape. The administration and the faculty of this school are mostly catholic so they discriminate against everyone who is not. If you show any sign of born again Christian, they will hate you as well. My friend’s grades are always low because she is outspoken. And, I know she is better than me and many others who receive continuously top grades. Why is that? In my dictionary, this kind of behavior shouldn’t be tolerated in a school. That’s why I am leaving this place. CCU sounds like a good option but I will apply to other schools in the region as well.
