South Puget Sound Community College

The nursing program is difficult to get in to. You almost need a 4.0. Program is unorganized, poor NCLEX pass rate. this program is having trouble keeping their accreditation. They are failing students in LARGE numbers. The attrition is extremely high. This is disturbing considering these are all very strong students who were able to come in to the program. One quarter failed 1/3 of the class. Both of the second year instructors do not know the material they are teaching, and they are both very abusive towards the students. In the first year students, only 5 students total out of both classes passed their midterm. 2nd year many students are failing. As for the ones who are passing...their GPA's are being destroyed by this program. If you plan on going to this school, don't plan on going to a 4 year school to get your BSN, MSN, or PHD, because your GPA will be toast if you are lucky enough to make it to graduation. Also, don't expect them to actually teach you. This is a self taught program.

This college had made me homeless, prevented me from getting my AA when i was 5 credits away, and has no idea what is going on. Much of the staff is incompetent, be it the teachers or the faculty. Many of the teachers are completely rude, and have no idea on how to teach. They know the material, but not how to reach the students. The admissions itself is not straight forward about the classes you actually need, and the audit online itself is not accurate to what you really need. Of course I was told all this after signing up for classes. SPSCC has fucked my life up big time, one of my biggest regrets ever was going to this school. I'm not even sure if I will ever finish college after this horrendous experience.
