Major: Accounting (This Major's Salary over time)
I've attended to three other universities before transferring to Dowling. I must say that I've had nothing but positive experiences here. The professors are extremely helpful, and available almost any time of day, whether by phone, or email. The overall coursework is much harder than others schools that I have attended, however, I attribute it to the greater emphasis on education. Most professors in my major will not only teach the subject matter, but also teach how it may or may not apply to everyday life - they are very focused on real life examples! The Oakdale (main)Campus is realitively small, however, the total combined graduate and undergraduate population is approximately 6800 students. The average age of the undergrade students is mid-20s, and with 94% of students commuting to school, and 91% working either full or part time jobs, the professors are very understanding of the fact that we have real life to deal with as well. Many students are in the same boat as me - have decided to come back to school after taking time off, and the entire campus and faculty as a whole are very understanding when it comes to this.
