Date: Aug 14 2003 Major: Fine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc (This Major's Salary over time) My relationship with BJU is similar to an abusive marriage—they keep beating me and I go back for more. I was expelled in 1982 (3 weeks before graduation) for drawing a cartoon called "Dormsbury" that poked fun at BJU's weird attitude toward government and minorities ( and "mixed bathing" and dating and sex and…etc…) In 1984 I returned (yes they let me back in BUT I had to retake my senior year PLUS pay the whole year in advance)and finished my BS degree. BE WARNED - they play rough at BJU. You can learn a great deal—more than your average "state" college—if you play your cards right. BJU is definitely a (THE?) "Harvard" or "Yale" of christian colleges. Not all teachers agree with the school's policies so some faculty members will protect you and stick up for you if need be. If you're going to go, take a deep breath and hold on—BJU will give you the ride of your life—come on, kids, it's only college!

So you rightly compare this dump to an abusive marriage and then go on to call it the Harvard of Christian colleges? Whatever you're having, brother, I want some!I can believe that BJU would expel somebody for a cartoon making fun of their grim, utterly humorless stance against the "other races", their intensely strict rules on dating, and so on.They were insane to force you to retake your senior year's courses AND pay it all IN ADVANCE. You were far more insane to have agreed to do any of it.America got 99 colleges but Bob Jones ain't one.
