BCC is not for everybody. The school is highly ranked and I don't dispute the fact they offer wonderful technical and horticulture programs. However, for a well rounded liberal arts education to transfer to a 4 year university, I don't think Bellevue Community College is the greatest school out there. I believe Lake Washington Technical, Shoreline Community College and any of the Seattle Community Colleges offer a more rigorous education which prepares you for university life. Some of the students there are preppies who breeze through classes since they aren't that hard. Some of the younger students can be snotty because they already have their BMV and Lexus with a state of the art cell phone and all the latest tech gadgets. Bellevue is a pretty boring city and if you want more fun, go to Seattle which is about a 20 minute drive away. They have a radio station which makes it easy for people who are artsy to practice and hook up with other people who are likeminded. Not everything about BCC is bad, but there are its good points and its bad points. Even though I wouldn't have attended BCC if I had to do it all over again, I admit the 6 months I spent there were a rest from the demanding courseload North Seattle Community College was barraging me with. BCC cafeteria food is among the better I have come across in community colleges. Despite the preppies who attend BCC, there is a growing international student body. They are friendly and down to earth. They come from many countries such as Russia, Ukraine, Japan, Ethiopia and etc.
