GSU is a great school. It definitely has a reputation as a party school, but what college doesn't? The faculty is great for the most part. Some are difficult and grade too harshly; however, most are very approachable and willing to help. One good thing is that you do get a "professor," not an intern. In four years, I have never had INT. Class size is never outrageous in numbers. The campus life is too good. There's a party every night if you choose to indulge. There are some fairly good watering holes too. Greek life is also good, although not as organized as some other state chapters. One of the most disagreeable aspects to the city is the police force. There are 5 departments that can catch you in a second if you are not doing "as you should." If you are caught, they throw the book at you and fine you like crazy. There is a very political side to the city's organization. All lawyers, police, judges, etc. are out to make lots of momey, and they do. However, overall, it is a great school, and it is close to the beach and has good weather, hot and sticky, but if you like a warm climate, Statesboro is for you! I would make one suggestion for any student applying to any school. If you are not ready for college, don't come. Be sure you can handle time management and hold your beer. Mommy and Daddy need you to stay at home if you aren't capable of both.
