Most classes aren't challenging? what was your major..? |
While I wasn't a student-athlete, I can attest to the preferential treatment that they get, which is very unfair. However, I bet it is not that different at other schools. With a Jesuit philosophy, you'd think SCU would be different. |
Major: Unknown (This Major's Salary over time)
SCU is a beautiful school. Coming from the rainy Northwest, I was happy about this. THe school is overall good, but not great. Some classes are very challenging, but most aren't. I transferred to St. Mary's College of California and found there is more big picture involvement in terms of academics and you learn to think on your feet. There is a stereotypical Santa Clara student (as at St. Mary's too), but I feel like at least with other schools, you can think outside of the box. Santa Clara students seem to enter the real world thinking they're still at the school. I was a student-athlete and we received very special treatment. It seemed unfair. Warning to all: do not join anything that deals with Greek Life. Glorified high-school setting. Overall on a 1-10 scale, I would give SCU a solid 6, which is good and disappointing at the same time.
