I am shocked at how Baylor has degraded into a laughable parody of what it once was. Sloan is a disgrace to higher education. I NEVER tell people that I graduated from Baylor; instead, I brag about my graduate degree. When I was at Baylor, there was freedom of thought. I was Baptist, but not a fundamentalist zealot. There was true academic freedom. That has changed. Today, unless you are a fundamentalist Republican who is unwilling to examine any other ideas, Baylor is not for you. I am a leader in my field and go out of my way to steer students away from Baylor. If you aren't a religious fanatic who wants to stay that way, go to a real university.
