I actually enjoyed my time at Baylor. I'm black, so that immediately put me in the vast minority, as is anyone who isn't white, upper middle class and Christian. I wasn't really that uncomfortable going to the school because I had grown up in similar environements, but it would have been nice to be part of a somewhat less homogenous campus. If you go to this school, you need to be aware that there is a pretty fundamentalist attitude. If you're not Christian (in name, at least) you may be looked down upon, and you'll probably run into people who will do their best to convert you. You're also not exactly going to an urban metropolis. Waco is a small city and there isn't much to do, so most students elected to travel to Dallas or Austin every weekend. While I was there, there was also a lot of friction between Baylor students and Waco residents. I don't want to paint the school in a bad light, however. My saving grace was my major. Although there is a lot of controversy regarding it now, Baylor's telecommunication department was a community within a community. I truly relish the four years I spent in Castellaw and I know the education I received there is just as good as anything I could have received elsewhere. If you're open-minded enough to overlook Baylor's faults, and you get involved with student organizations, I think it's a great environment for the right person.
