Allegheny College is a place where students with a good high school background come to party a little bit, but work a lot. Just being in the top 5% of your highschool class does not mean that the school will be easy, so come prepared with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn from both the students and professors around you.

It is also to your advantage if you get to know the professors in your department well, be sure to talk to them often and keep them updated. They are more than willing to help when it comes to academics and they like to see students who take the initiative to get the help they need rather than simply failing or struggling through their work.
