You say u were ablet to pay your way? I have concerns with paying for Baylor..did they met your full need? and how much was loans? |
They met my full need (financial aid always does), but it included some loans. I had scholarships and free money that added up to about 2/3 of the cost, so the rest had to be loans. Tuition goes up every year, so you should take that into consideration, you'll probably need to borrow a little more each year (~1 to 2 K more each year). I have already graduated, so I don't know what the current tuition is. |
Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time)
Okay, I got into Baylor because I knew as soon as I visited that it was the right place for me, I can't explain that, it just felt like home. I do not come from affluent parents (my parents make less than 20K/year) and so far I have been able to pay my way through. Even though I struggle somewhat to pay for it, I would NOT trade Baylor for any other place. This place has given me a unique and wonderful experience, I have met wonderful people, and faculty and residence staff that really cares about YOU as a person, not just as somebody else living in the dorm, or as a social security number. All of the faculty members are wonderful (even though I have had some classes I really hate!!) and very willing to spend time with you. The teacher to student ratio is very low, except for some required classes like PoliSci. The people that don't like it are usually people that come here expecting it to be something else (more liberal, to be specific). Be aware that BU prides itself in being a Christian college, so don't expect visitation hours to be very long, and know that you'll be required to take Chapel (all you have to do is show up). I am also a science/pre-med major, so this place is wonderful to get into med school (well, if you do well enough off course), the acceptance rate is really high for BU grads. I love the campus, is beautiful, it makes you feel like you are not in Texas at all sometimes. Weather's great, a little bit crazy sometimes, but hey, this is texas. Okay, I already said way too much, I know, but to conclude I would just like to say that I do not regret choosing Baylor and I would not trade this experience for anything else. Baylor is a great place to grow not only academically, but also as an individual. PS. Very cute guys, too =)
