Major: Education (This Major's Salary over time)
The school as a whole is good. It is a small school, only 2,500 students, and that is good because classes are smaller and u get to know people more on a personal basis. As far as the social life, it can at times get a lil boring. But when things get jumping, they jump. Homecoming, the parties during the week, and the activities SGA has planned are very much fun. We have all the black greek fraternities and sororities. The city of Fort Valley is very small and boring. However, Macon, a major city in Georgia, is only about 20 minutes away and that is where most of the fun can take place. Atlanta, Georgia is about an hour away. The extra crurricular activities are good. Whatever your interest you, there is a club here for you. We play on the Division II level for sports. All the sports teams are competitive. Some of the schools that we play are Tuskegee University, Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, and of course our biggest rival Albany State University. We have football, softball, mens and womens basketball, mens and womens tennis, mens and womens track, mens and women cross country, womens volleyball, and more. Also, we have a marching band which offers scholarships. All athletics events are free to all Fort Valley State studentsAs far as classes, they often challenge you and you can not get by without studying and putting time in to your work. All teachers I have had were easily accesible in their office. Some of the teachers are foreign and it is hard to understand what they say however.Overall, Fort Valley State is a good school for anyone.
