East Tennessee State University provided an EXECELLENT education for both my wife and me. My wife has done very well in social work, for the past 29 years, with only a bachelors degree from ETSU and earns a salary in excess of $60,000 per year. I have done OK myself. Over the years, we have found that ETSU does provide an excellent education to it's students at a reasonable price. Some people complain about the lack of anything to do or social life in Johnson City, but that is NOT why you are in college. Employers will NOT care if you never had sex, never had a social life, etc. (however, they WILL negatively care if you have some sort of disease you got from sex, if you are an alcohlic and/or a drug abuser and will not tolerate sexual problems, alcohol and drug problems) The "bottom line", the only concern of graduate and professional schools and employers will be what you learned and that all mighty grade point average!! You can learn a great deal at ETSU and can go on to do well in life as a result of what you learned there. The only negative thing I can say about ETSU is that the residence halls tended to be noisy and rowdy, when I was there, but I hear that those conditions have improved. Students simply need to take advantage of ETSU's excellent academic offerings and facilities and not worry about social life when they are there (in other words, GROW UP AND STUDY!) - be grateful that you don't have a lot of irrelevant distractions and can focus on learning at an excellent university! You can do very well in life as the result of having attended East Tennessee State University as an undergraduate or as a graduate school or professional school student. Both my wife and I would strongly recommend ETSU to anyone!
