Major: Other (This Major's Salary over time)
If I had it to do all over again, I'd have never set foot on the campus. There is this mentality that if you do not go to a Christian University, you are not a Christian. If you try to leave, they suggest counseling to "redeem your backslidden self." You can successfully go to a state or liberal arts school and get a more broadened education with no close-mindedness. Thinking is ENCOURAGED. Amazing, huh? After 2 years at BJ, I am stretching my legs and realizing the necessity of being informed, which I was not while I was there. Democrats are condemned…"evil liberals." Ok, so democrats cannot be Christians. Got it. Although I highly doubt God thinks in terms of "conservative" or "liberal" but moving along… I must admit that I never saw the racism on campus. All three black students were treated nicely and welcomed into open arms. And there are also many oriental students who are welcome too - although they are NOT allowed to speak in their native language in the dormitories (because…well…they might be criticizing a rule or something sinful like that). Education-wise, as I must admit I occasionally ran into an actual qualified professor, but other than that - most faculty was trained at BJ (can you see the vicious circle here?). Other Christian institutions AND state schools can provide you with better preparation to succeed in the future workplace and home life. If you are actually considering BJU, all I can suggest is to get a copy of the current handbook, read over the pages, (and laugh your head off) before you make a concrete decision.
