Baylor is a school designed for one type of person, and they are very keen on maintaing that image. If you are a middle to upper class, white, conservative, Christian, you would probably love Baylor. Although most of the students are friendly, it is on a very superficial level, and the people here are very quick to judge and make assumptions. Because I openly supported John Kerry over George Bush, faculty, administration, and students alike assumed I was gay, atheist, and communist. I am none of those things, but because I refused to treat those classifications as inherently evil, people went on assuming they were true. This is not a place for minorities, Baylor University has LESS than 5% of its student body as African-American. Baylor is not a place for alternative lifestyles, openly gay students will be expelled. Non-Christian students are allowed to attend Baylor, but they may not form clubs advocating alternative religions, or openly practice their religion. Baylor is a place for wealthy conservative Christians to meet other wealthy conservative Christians, and Baylor is perfectly content with maintaing that reputation. If you are like that, I can promise you, you will enjoy Baylor very much.
