First, get your priorities straight. If you're going to CSU

F or any other "State" university you probably have a limited amount of financial resources, otherwise you'd be at U of C school. Second, stop whining about student life. Everyone knows that CSUF is a huge school and that it caters to commuters mainly because the school is surrounded by neighborhoods, not quaint towns, communities and dorms. Third, taken from experience, if you want to impress people with the school you went to then work 3 jobs and go to USC, otherwise take a better path to success. Go to junior college to save money, go to CSUF or similar school to get a solid, relatively inexpensive education, THEN go to a top graduate school like USC. If you happen to send your resume to me for review I will be much more impressed that you went to graduate school at a top university than if you went there as an undergrad. Most undergrads don't pay for their own education at top schools, most graduates do. So you're showing me that you're willing to fork over the dough to add to your education after mom and dad stopped paying. As for me, After CSUF I went to the University of La Verne for my MBA specifically because they had a satellite campus right next to my office building and I attended 80% of the classes in that building. Also, I waited 15 years to start the MBA, which also explains why I went to La Verne and not USC. Once you've worked 15 years you don't have the financial motivation to go to the USC's of the world. Hopefully you've established yourself professionally and are returning to school more for personal reasons rather than professional reasons. Keep this in mind…80% of the professors in my MBA program at La Verne also taught courses at USC, UCI, CSUF, CSULB, Chapman and a handful of other universities. So don't think you're getting "special" professors just because you're paying for them. If you want to be successful after college work very hard when you enter the workforce because there are a lot of lazy, "give me mine" graduates that expect to be respected when they get out of school. Believe me, for every 10 lazy graduates there is one of you, like me, a "B" undergrad student and an "A" graduate student who could kick their professional butt any day of the week.
