Baruch College is probably the best out of all the CUNY schools if you are planning on majoring in a business related field. There are three buildings on the city campus: one being the library/computer/registrar/bursar/financial aid building all rolled into one, then there is the old campus building which houses the physical science departments, and the main class campus buildings where most of the classes are held. They are all next to each other and within two minutes walking distance.
Good points:
Great facilities, lots of computers everywhere inside the library and in the main campus buildings, new desks/chairs/projectors, clean bathrooms, clean floors all the timeetc. Baruch is known for it's modern structure and it is more technologically advanced than many other public colleges. There are even about a dozen computer workstations with high speed internet access next to the escalators and elevators so you can check email and do whatever. Lots of clubs and social life is based on what you make out of it. This is a commuter school after all with the average student being 22-24yrs. old. Neighborhood is nice with tons of restaurants, delis, and shops everywhere. Low crime rate around here and campus is extremely safe but watch out for traffic and cars when crossing the intersections around here. Stay away from eating too much fast food cause all the fast food joints are here. Convenient location as you can take the train to anywhere you want in the city. Professors are generally very helpful. Again you have the make the effort to get help if needed because the professors are here for everyone, they're not here just for you. Tons of resources to be taken advantage of in the library center and career development center-lots of internships for the majors students. Financial aid, bursar,library staff are very helpful and nice. It's better to always go early in the morning to get your issues resolved before they get too busy. Like any other school, bureaucracy here isn't perfect and can always be improved. Online registration is simple and fast.

Bad points: the escalators will usually be out of service after 10 so it may be a hassle at times. Class sizes are large, avg is 35 students per class. Lecture class sizes are large as well so most of your professors will not memorize your names. But most professors will take attendance anyway which takes away from class times. Many people suffer from the large general education course classes they have to take in order to apply for their majors and that can be discouraging because you'll feel that you will never be able to complete it all, but it is all up to your own effort in the end. I've noticed that most of the accounting professors are incompetent in the way they teach the concepts in a clear and very understanding manner. They seem to just focus on the applications and math rather than introduce you to the concepts first. As you know, you cannot understand accounting without first understandng the concepts. Baruch doesn't have a very good first pass rate for the CPA either. Accounting majors are the most popular here but seems to have the most problems as well. Journalism and english depts. here are outstanding as we have interesting writers in residence every term. Cafeteria food, like all other university cafeterias, are overpriced and sub par in taste.
