Major: Music - Composition/Theory (This Major's Salary over time)
I don't know whether BJU could be considered the "best" Christian school available, but it certainly ranks very high.If you're thinking of coming:1. Come with a good attitude. Especially if you're not used to lots of rules, a good attitude is the best help. Whatever pressure you're under, you still have a choice, so if you choose to come, don't complain about the rules you chose to place yourself under.2. Don't come planning to "rock the boat". You'll only hurt yourself.3. Since you're looking at pages of comments, compare the attitudes and language of the positive/negative reviewers. That will tell you a great deal about both them and the school.4. Critical thinking is certainly allowed, as is discussion. The issue is the way you do it. It's interesting that so many of the positive reviewers say So much for cookie-cutter Christians.I got my B.Mus. there in four years. Some of the faculty are "set in their ways" and "close-minded", but then, so are the reviewers who complain about it. They wouldn't be complaining if they hadn't been determined from the start to get the faculty to come to their point of view.I feel I got a good education, but I don't have another school to compare it to.At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I'll conclude by saying the one thing that will make or break your experience at BJU is your attitude. Come with a Christ-like, submissive attitude, and you just might love it. Come fighting, and you'll leave scarred.
