Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time)
If freshman students want to graduate in 4 years, they need to take 5 classes per semester. If they want to graduate in 5 years, they need to take 4 classes per semester. Taking summer school classes is a good way to get ahead (so always make your summer productive-whether you take classes or work). If you're a business major, it's better and cheaper to take care of some GE's and lower division business core classes at a community college (especially Accounting 201a and 201b)—but make sure they transfer (go to assist.org to see). Accounting, in particular, is really difficult to pass at CSUF. Many students take it on average 2 or 3 times, and that could really hurt your GPA. Although we have a good business program and the campus is pretty nice (we just got a BRAND NEW BUSINESS BUILDING), Cal State Fullerton is pretty much a commuter school and lacks school spirit. So if you want to experience close community and school spirit on at your college, CSUF may not be able to provide that. By the way, did you know once you're in a 4-year university, it's a lot easier to transfer to a different school (like say, from CSUF or UC Riverside to UCLA or USC). Getting to UCLA straight out of highschool might be tough, but getting accepted from a community college is high… as well from a 4-year to 4-year university)…just so long as you maintain a good GPA (3.0 bare minimum, 3.5 or above gives you a very good chance). As a business major student… you're probably going to attend GRAD SCHOOL and get your MBA (but not after you work in the corporate world for about 2-3 years). So you better have some idea of which grad school you'd want to go to and make that your goal… cause there's no transferring to your dream grad school like you can with undergrad. SO… primarily focus on getting a good GPA is very, very important! Getting good grades is most important your freshman, sophomore year in college! And on a side note, I would really recommend that students look into studying abroad for a semester cause it's an unbelievable experience! And also, intern at a place your 3rd year~ or even as early as your 2nd year if you're ambitious!
