Major: Design Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc (This Major's Salary over time)
In the course, you will only learn anything on your spare time, most of the teachers are either still learning the coursework themselves, or are too self-absorbed to actually listen to suggestions or comments. They follow the book EXACTLY, and dont teach students to find their own style or ideas. From my classes, I've had fellow students who were looked down upon because they understood more than the teachers were teaching, and were given lower grades for actually showing advanced skill. The textbooks are useless as I never opened them for class, and when I looked at them outside school, I still didnt learn anything new from them. The $200+ of art Supplies that were "needed" and bought at the very beginning of the year were NEVER used save for the first semester, and even then we rarely used anything. The teachers half the time dont know what they're talking about, but there were a few teachers who were helpful and able to answer every question, and give help if you needed, sadly, those teachers left or were fired right after I graduated from the school. The job placement system is a JOKE. The only jobs available they had for a graphic design student was either for the fashion program, at midnight handling stock, or other retail jobs. it's just a big waste of money. you'll have a better learning experience taking the $35,000+ worth of tuition, tearing each bill to shreds, and throwing it in the hudson.
