HI. Based on your response, I get the impression that it is a good school to teach you how to learn new material. But based on other reviews from people of class 2000, they stated that rather than teaching, they expect you to learn by yourself for the most part even in subjects like organic chemistry. Is that true? |
Major: Pharmacy (This Major's Salary over time)
When I first graduated from StLCOP I had a great disdain for that school. It was way too labor intensive, akin to a 6 year mental boot camp. But that being said and having 17 years of experience, I am grateful that I went to "the old girl" for my schooling. StLCOP taught us how to self learn and this is important in the field of pharmacy ; the knowledge matrix is always changing. I have worked with pharmacists that have graduated from other schools ( KC, Xavier, Butler and Rutgers) and they are almost all empirically taught badly. These colleagues are usually poor pharmacists in reputation.Yes, StLCOP has a reputation of being hard and cutthroat but ultimately it is worth it. If you decide to go to Medical school after StLCOP, your medical training will be very easy; this I can ascertain by my old roommates who are now physicians ( who both are wishing that they stayed as pharmacists)
