is a private, comprehensive university focusing on cooperative education. Founded
in 1898, it adopted coeducation in 1943. Programs are offered
through the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Computer
Science, Criminal Justice, Engineering, Nursing, and Pharmacy and Allied Health
Professions; the Schools of Engineering Technology and Journalism; and the
Boston-Bouve College of Human Development Professions. Its 60-acre campus is
located in Boston, near the Fenway. Northeastern University, located in
the heart of Boston, Massachusetts, integrates challenging liberal arts and
professional studies with the world's largest cooperative education program (co-op).
Northeastern combines an outstanding curriculum, seventy majors and concentrations, thirty-nine
dual majors, and sixteen interdisciplinary major and minors with co-op
and other types of hands-on learning, stimulating students to think
across the boundaries connecting ideas and action. The liberal arts
help students develop a broader worldview; professional studies expand their
understanding of their majors; and co-op enriches their classroom studies
while giving them professional experience. This dynamic of academic excellence
and real-world experience better prepares students to succeed in life. Location/Contact NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY
