Academically, Lynn University is just like any other small college. Teachers are always there for the student because the small class sizes allow for them to help each individual. Classes aren't very challenging, and showing up to class will most likely get you a good grade even if you don't study hard. The campus is absolutely gorgegous, you can sit between classes at the pool, chill on the outside hammocks, play basketball/tennis, or go to the gym. Boca Raton is full of very wealthy families, and retired old people, so safety outside of campus isn't an issue. 5 minutes down the street is Spanish River Beach, and about 30 minutes away is Deerfield Beach or Delray Beach. Lynn definately passes on being the perfect Florida school setting, and having generally caring staff of teachers. However, socially, Lynn needs to work out some kinks. Like any other school there's drugs, alchohol, and students who just go to college for the partying. Unlike other schools, Lynn has an abnormal amount of drug addicts, alcholics, and pretty much everyone just wants to party. Lynn has alot of rich students who can afford any drug they want and are use to being lazy and not having to do much in life to get what they want. If you go to Lynn with a good head on your shoulder, you won't get sucked into the drug lifestyle, but if you go in not knowing who you are drugs come so easy at Lynn that you can start bad habits. It's a lot like high school, the jocks hang out with the jocks, the people from long island hang out with the people from long island, hippies with hippies, and etc. There are alot of students with legitimate mental problems at this school for some reason. Alot of students are in learning disability classes. South Florida in general marches to it's drum, but Lynn is like an alternate reality. So many students either go to rehab, or have been to rehab. Alot drive BMWs or Mercedes, it's rare to see a new Toyota even. If you aren't attractive, you'll be ignored…if you aren't rich…people won't think twice about you. If your all about drugs and partying…you'll fit in. Overall Lynn is 50/50…as I said academics are fine, but it's tough being young and completely doing your own social thing…Lynn sucks you in…if you plan on going here go there being who you are.
