There are a lot of Christian Women who attend this school who are either married or are mothers who are searching for a good education. I am a rather mature individual who spends most of her time with older people, so I truly enjoyed this type of atmosphere. Most of the students, during the afternoon and evening, are male. It is nice to see, every now and then, some male students. Most of the professors are males as well and the women professors are either like aunts, mothers, or grandmothers. The environment is very pleasant, especially if you are a suburban or country girl. You will never find anything disrespectful to the nature of a young woman and the males respect the ladies. However, this is based on an individual basis. In short, Chatham is a high quality school compared to some of the other local schools. I've met very nice people at Chatham. The University of Pittsburgh (pitt) and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) are okay. However, I would put Carnegie above Pitt and Chatham above both. The stereotypes of Chatham being a "gay" or lesbian school is incorrect. This should truly stop because this is not a truthful estimation of the school. There are certainly going to be some imperfections, as there is with other schools. However, the environment is indeed conducive to that of a studious and focused individual.
