Just so you understand who I am, I have been out of Gordon for almost 4 years now. At Gordon, I was involved with 3 different clubs, I was a leader for an international service trip and I was an athlete. As of now, I am currently finishing my Masters in Business Administration at a top ranked Business school and looking to work as a consultant in the next years.

Gordon is not a college for any type of student. If you are a Christian, intellectually curious, and willing to question your assumptions about what Christianity is and how it should be lived nowadays, then Gordon will be a great asset for you. Also, Gordon is not an easy college. You won't be able to just sit in class and take exams and get good grades. You will need to study, read and work hard. It was very common for me to be in the library until 10, 11, 12 or later during exams.

At Gordon you will find professors who are very knowledgeable about their areas and who at the same time are genuine about their faith. They are really honest about how they reconcile their subject of study to how they live their Christian faith on a day to day basis. In other words, they will be real with you as a student and a human being.

As far as academics, you will be challenged by your professors. My classmates were also pretty smart people and I was constantly challenged by their comments, ideas and actions. They are also very willing to meet and mentor you if you make yourself available. I looked to be mentored by a specific professor, and she became not only my academic mentor, but a great friend. I still consult with her about my career decisions and life projects. As a matter of fact we are meeting tomorrow for coffee!

Your classmates will be great people as well. I have made friendships at Gordon that will last for a lifetime. I have been out of Gordon now for 4 years and I am still in touch with most of my core friends. I still call and speak to them every week and I meet with the ones that live around me very often as well. Of course there were people there that I did not get along, but those were very few people.

As far as fun, the beach is about 5 min drive down the road. You can sky in the NH mountains and that is about 1hr to 2 hr depending on which mountain you go to.

Boston is close by, and it is not easy to get there if you don't have a car, however if you have a car, or your roommate has a car, then you can get into Cambridge or Boston very easily. I went in every other week at least. I attended different events at Harvard, MIT, BC, BU.

New York is 4 and a half hours away. Lots of students head down there through the "Chinatown Bus" which takes you from Boston to NY for 30 dollars round trip. I did that trip 4 or 5 times during my years at Gordon.

Another typical trip was to Montreal, in Canada, which is about 5 hours away. Beautiful city, you get to speak french and eat great food.

As you can see, I had a great time at Gordon. It really was the best college I could have attended. I did not get paid to write this survey :), however you can truly see how I love Gordon and I truly do. Gordon was instrumental in my life and development as a student as as a young professional, but more importantly, as a young christian who truly cares about how to impact the world in a positive way through my life.

questionHow much do students get in need-based scholarships? I keep hearing kids from Gordon complain about all the loans they have.

Thanks!
