I am also a sophomore transfer from NYU and although I am still adjusting to Wesleyan, I think it is an absolutely amazing school. The best part—hands down—are the challenging academics. My professors are so helpful and are amazing in their fields. Whether you're pre-med, pre-law or looking into graduate schools a degree from Wes will get you VERY, very far. Also, there are no requirements—It is open curriculum. You can take whatever you want and control your schedule as you please.

There is no other liberal arts school quite like Wes. Somewhat big size (3,200 = perfect), so you get a bigger school feel but don't get lost. Middletown is an absolute shithole, but once you get past that and get involved on campus there is no place better then Wesleyan! It can be a bubble for sure, but everyone is so happy to be here. It's heaven. Everyone here is also very open minded and interesting beyond belief—you'll meet so many kinds of people. Wes is definitely not as homogeneous as other colleges.

I would say that while no place is perfect, wes comes pretty darn close. AMAZING academic experience (I cannot stress this enough), vibrant social life, and tons of extracurriculars. What really makes wesleyan are the people who go here, and that is enough reason to come. People here get stereotyped as liberal, pretentious assholes (which certainly applies to a small minority of the student body), but the majority of people here are fucking fantastic.

COME TO WESLEYAN!!!! Or at least apply. My biggest regret is not applying here as a freshmen. Now i'm a sophomore transfer, but boy do I wish I had been here for frosh year. GO WES!
