Major: Nursing (This Major's Salary over time)
Given a chance if I could transfer to any other cal state or university, I would in a heartbeat. Too bad this is a realistic school for me and is close to home. I am a freshman year 2009-2010 and am enjoying the academic part of college so far. A lot more freedom and room for creativity. The campus is quite small and the only place to hang out is the TSU.. everyone seems too be doing their own thing here and aren't very open in my experience. Maybe it's just me but many students here aren't very talkative.. all this year I've had borderline crickety silence class where no one spoke except the professor. Maybe it's just us freshmens and everyone is nervous.. but really? C'mon…Anywho, what I'm reviewing is based on my experience and like I said the school is alright. It's not bad and a heck better than community colleges. The environment here is welcoming and relaxed, a little too chill if you ask me. The professors are a hit and miss just like any other school.. sometimes you'll get good ones and there are horrible ones. I've lucked out with "ok" professors who are helpful and caring enough to see me after hours. Overall, I really enjoy the academic experience at CSUF.Social Life - Once in a while there will be a few newly opened clubs that happen near the campus. There's the TSU where you can shoot pool, eat (horrible food) and hang out. It's fun at first but I believe it will get boring as the years pass by.. b/c it's the same thing over and over. The surrounding areas are nice and theres Brea Mall near by which I'd rather ditch the TSU and go there to grab a bite to eat. My friends and I are constantly looking for new activities and events that goes on in the school (besides frat parties) but there have been a limited amount of events here. Really, it's a hit or miss for some of them. I guess CSUF is what you make it, as long as you are enjoying yourself and making the most of your time there.. it'll be fun. It's nothing to scream about, but really nothing to complain about either. Thanks for reading. - Michelle
