Gettysburg is a beautiful college that is situated between the rolling hills of the Gettysburg Battlefields and the quaint 1800's charm of the town's square. The student body is somewhat homogeneous(generally upper-middle class white students), although everyone is friendly and approachable. The academics are challenging (more so in some majors than others), and the college does a great job of fostering creative theological (outside-the-box) thinking as well as solution-oriented, practical problem-solving. The social scene is very fraternity/sorority-involved, as there are 11 fraternities (with large houses) and 6 sororities for the relatively low (2500)student population. The town square also has many restaurants/bars within walking distance to enjoy. Many students are involved with NCAA athletics from Football to Lacrosse, so there are many athletes within the small population pool. Also, don't be surprised if a tour is guided by a woman in Civil War-era garb past your freshman dorm window, as the town hosts a booming tourism economy during the warmer months.

Furthermore, Gettysburg is a great education in a beautiful setting with great facilities and offers as many althletic/non-athletic clubs and activities one could imagine. It provides a great social scene and a great alumni sense of fraternity after graduation. I highly recommend it.
