Cnr is only for a certain type of person. It is a great school if you do not plan to have any type of a social life. This is basically a commuter school. The campus is empty every night and weekend. The food is bad and has very inconvenient hours. However the food staff is extremely nice. They will take you suggestions. One thing that is weird is that you cant buy a meal plan. It comes as part of your tuition but it only comes to about $12,000 a semester which is not enough to live off of. Most people run out of money before the semester is over. When this happens you have to hope someone that goes home on the weekend will let you use their card.

Another thing is that they tell you laundry is inculded but it really isnt. You have to put the cash on your card. But dont worry about doing laundry, most of the time the machines dont even work.

The dorms are very old and dirty. Brescia stays at a constant 100 degrees and smells. Ursula is filled with ghetto girls.

The nursing program is very good so only come here if you are a nursing student. They give you a laptop which is nice but they break all the time and it can take up to two weeks to fix it. Also the internet goes down about once a day.

The advisors and council and career services are a joke. Many of my teachers will need a student to turn on their computer for them because they do not know how. Seriously.

The location is right in the middle of a neighborhood so it is extremely safe. Security here is great and very friendly.

Most girls here are very ghetto and low class. Also there will be a large number of adults in your classes. I cant stress enough how boring this school is. It is extremely depressing. Come here only if you dont mind paying a lot of money, only to be alone in a small crapy dorm.

There is very little work study here. Most people cannot find jobs.

Its very nice being close to the city and most people walk to the metro north.

This school is very money hungry because last year it came very close to going under. They will do anything (fail you) in order to keep you at this school for as long as possible.

Since it is such a small school, professors will know your name but they will also notice when you dont do your homework or go to class.

This really is a nice place but it is not the typical fun college. I would only advise coming here if you are an adult learner.

Responses
responseI graduated a while and ironically I had the same sense of isolation and loneliness you describe, especially the first year. I decided to return and probably did not appreciate CNR until my senior year and then when I went to law school at a mid-size midwestern university (that had fancy dorms, great technology), I really appreciated the quality of education that I had at CNR.The dorms and the food are just not that important in the long run. The men and women in my grad school were so unsophisticated - some had not ever been to NYC, could not carry on a conversation about art, culture, etc.
