First off I would have to say that most of everyone I had talked to as far as the faculty were helpful and nice, at first. Of course this is so because in that type of education (business) they're all about numbers and let me tell you one student sure as heck makes a difference in their paycheck. So basically here's my story: I got into the AA program at AIU to work towards my criminology major, when I started I was told for the entire AA program it was going to cost me a little of 10,000 dollars. Being skeptical I was mislead by a admissions office and went ahead and took a shot at it. At one point I called to let admissions know that I was going to finish my first four classes and drop because I was having difficulty keeping up. At that point I was informed that I had already owed 9,500 dollars which got me confused. Then I was informed that 10,000 dollars was only half of what the AA degree cost. I am now (even after disputing and arguing what was said) paying that 9,500 dollars of which I was unaware when it was released off deferment and sent to collections. Ok you guys who are looking into AIU, ask all the questions you can to make your decision to attend because what you don't ask they won't tell and like in my situation later on they will tell you "well you must have misunderstood or had some miscommunication". And you're stuck with the bills, anxiety, and stress. Btw just an opinion I guess: you end up paying a whole lot of money for basically on your own learning, there really isn't any teaching or helping done here… You're on your own!
