This is a terrible excuse for a school. The Financial Aid Department is the only part of this school that is decently maintained, because thats how they strip money from naive and unsuspecting students. This is not a school but a buisness, a buisness built upon lies and manipulaion of people who are trying to do something they have dreamed of since youth. There are many decent flight instructors here, don't get me wrong, but most of them are only working there because the school has trapped them there financially. You do receive decent training, but lets consider these numbers; I left Spartan after eight months of working full time and flying whenever possible, i could no longer afford to attend this outrageously priced school. The school i am attending now estimates the cost of recieving all your licenses to be around 44,000 dollars. Spartan estimates 77,000 but when you do the math the cost is over 110,000. Plus you will be nickle and dimed at every available opportunity. I recieved my Private Pilot license from Spartan at the whopping cost of 24,000 dollars. I personally know instructors today who have not paid that much for all of their licences. Even if we factor in inflation we can see that this school is outrageously overpriced and the training is no different from anywhere else in the country. If you are considering going to this school, or if you are there now, STAY AWAY! It is a terrible place that spends little to no money on planes and facilities and will only drain you slowly of all your money, time, energy and sense of self worth. The people who run this place can be described as money grubbing opportunists that will definately spend time in hell.

The Chief flight Instructor, Craig Lindholm, is a worthless manager who cannot even do checkrides because he is such a fat fuck. I had to remind this guy several time to sign off checkrides and this is all the guy does. Mr Yost, who runs the flight operations at Spartan is equally useless. He is a buisnessman who doesnt know a thing about aircraft operations besides flying first class after robbing you blind. He also hires family members and will allot them bloated salaries. Mr Harper the assistant Cheif Flight Instructor has never been seen doing anything but smoking. The bookstore is outrageously overpriced and they will require you to were extremely expensive and uncomfortable uniforms. The Student Support staff is barely existant. They claim that they will help you find employment,THEY WON'T.

The Attendance policy is a joke,Yost is a crooked bastard who will not allow time away even for bereavement. I personally know a guy who couldnt attend his grandpa's funeral due to this policy. This is just another ploy to take another 900 bucks from you as you are forced to retake the class. This "school" will take advantage of you in every way possible. That is why this school spends so much on advertising, if they spent half as much on their facilities as they do on advertising they would have a fucking palace next to the runway. They graduate virtually no one except those who have the money to afford this ridiculous attempt at a flight school or those who are to enept to find a better deal elsewhere, so they end up with thousands of dollars in debt and an associates degree after 6 years of hell.

So in conclusion, you can pay 110,000 for an associates degree and the worst learning atmosphere imaginable, or tens of thousands less and recieva a bachelors degree at a real school. Its an obvious choice. PILOTS stay away, this school will bend you over.

P.S. Never take a checkride with Flight Examiner ABC you will be busted.He makes crude sexual comments to female students and will throw you under the bus if you dont play along with it.
