MSL prepares students in a different manner - if you want to work as an attorney upon graduation then MSL is the choice. You are more prepared to practice than some other law school graduates that are geared towards academia - if you want to be a professor, not an attorney then you may want to consider another school.

commentThe truth is exactly opposite from what you say. If you want to be an attorney, go somewhere else because most graduates from this school do not end up practicing law and have hard time finding jobs.(unless if you have prior experience that would get you jobs - not as an attorney though) If you want to become a professor (Only at MSL) that is a possibility. Just kiss the right axx and do well here and you could be like other professors at MSL who are grads from MSL who did really well at MSL but can find job no where else. They can not survive or even get into the legal field, so they stay at the school as professors and give students hard times by talking down to them and giving them the Cs and the abuse they had received. Most of them don't know what they teach and do not have logic. Try talking to them and you will know.
commentI must say though, there are some professors at MSL that are good and legitimate. It is their cost saving and hiring of certain of their own grads that is a problem. The worst quality teachers seem to be the first year writing professors who really are not qualified to be professors. That is a nightmare. Hopefully, things get better in the second year.
commentI have friends that have graduated this past year and can not find jobs. Fortune 500 companies will not even interview any MSL graduate because the law school does not meet there hiring criteria , this means that they must be ABA approved law school in order for them to consider your resume for a job interview. So good luck to all those out there trying to find jobs after graduation from MSL. Hopefully, the graduate students will have enough funds to pay back there student loans.
commentOh one more thing, the writing lab or professors and courses are not exactly what you would expect at a law school . Its not even funny, because its very serious. Why is it so serious? Because your academic career at MSL depends on it… If you planning to learn IRAC for exams and how to write well for exams, its not going to come from this writing class at MSL. I have seen the difference between MSL and other law school writing classes. The difference is , the other law school teaches how to write for exams, how to spot issues, how to write out the entire irac so that you will pass the course and graduate with good grades. Compare to MSL, the writing classes they offer is a joke and waste of law student money. Another point that I should include is, the reserve desk area in the library has out dated law books. Yes, thats correct, out dated MCLE books, old civil procedure books and more. So, if you want to attend a law school go to ABA accredited school where your pay for what your getting. ABA accredited law schools are required to have current updated law books and even a large number of them for the students to read. Whereas MSL not accredited by the ABA therefore, no need for updated or current law books at the reserve desk in the library. Only a few law books may be current.
