Major: Education (This Major's Salary over time)
I definitely enjoyed my education at BJU. It is a Bible-believing religious institution. If you don't want to be taught from the Bible, you do not want to attend BJU. I received a degree in Mathematics Education. I received very high scores on both the NTE and GRE. After graduation I taught math for several years before getting married and raising a family. The education provided is rigorous. If you want to have all fun and play, go somewhere else. You can definitely enjoy yourself, but education comes first. My mother attended BJU and talked about it even when she had Alzheimer's. My oldest daughter graduated from the School of Applied Studies. My second daughter is currently a GA in Piano Pedagogy and has done extremely well. My third child attended for a year. It was much more difficult for him. I do wish the teachers had taken the initiative in helping him, but as an adult I do feel that it was his responsibility to go for more help. During his third semester he decided to drop out. He was able to do so without any major problems. They seem to be moving more and more toward wanting all students to go into graduate work. Therefore, I would say that today a requirement is to be an excellent academic student. I am disappointed that they are doing away with the School of Applied Studies. There are many people like my son who probably would have done much better in that type of study.
