I applied to MMC as a Theater Performance major with a minor in Musical Theater, and while the program is incredible, I decided against continuing that career but to stay at Marymount. However, because I didnt research the school on anything other than performance, I was not satisfied with the education I was receiving in the Art department for almost 50,000 a year. While my advisor was incredible outside of the classroom, inside I felt completely unchallenged and creatively shut down in every class I took. I did nurture a new passion, which I was glad to do in the confines of MMC, but once I was confident in my work, I stopped learning.

MMC is an incredible school for any type of theater, performance, or communication arts, but otherwise, Id say most students are unchallenged. The 'small school' aspect was very appealing, and while class sizes were under 20 and incredibly hands-on, a lot of professors are teaching outside of their fields and are pretty bitter about that fact. The gay to straight population is astronomical, which can sway people one of two ways. Im a straight female, and a lot of us girls hate the Fairymount lifestyle, but I felt I concentrated on school as opposed to the men around me. So how one handles that is very dependent on the person.
