This school is HORRIBLE!!! Do not even think twice about attending this school (if you intend to go to college to learn). Monroe College will do anything to fill a seat, but once youre there, expect to be ignored. When I first came to monroe they went the extra mile to accomodate me, they allowed me to choose my own room& classes were extremely easy to get into, they even dropped some of the fees so I could start classes on time. But when I started classes there it was horrible! The students are childish (I've heard many refer to monroe as a middle school boarding school) the dorms are trash, the res life does NOTHING, and student complaints mean nothing. If your having room mate problems (as I did on 3 diffetent occassions) they won't move you. Even if your room mate is a theif (like with my case).in addition the food is horrible and the computers are horribly slow (twenty minutes to log in to give you an idea) and you don't learn anything. I like to learn and to be challenged, at monroe the professors standards are so low I wasn't even proud to say I received an A. Also to say that you attend monroe college is an embarassing situation by itself, they let anyone in and pass out A's like oxygen. The only reason I haven't left is because most of their credits are non-transferable… Another horrid story from good ol' monroe. I came to monroe for the nursing program, my counselor told me that I needed to take a few pre-reqs to get in. When I completed my pre-reqs my counselor told me that she put me on a public health track and she felt that I was a better fit& that didn't really need those pre-reqs and if I continued her way I would graduate in a couple months. I was furious. But I continued on so that I could get my degree and kiss this stupid factory good-bye& attend a real college. The moral of this story: see Monroe.. RUN!
