Major: Education (This Major's Salary over time)
AU has a fantastic education program. If I was not in this major, I would transfer. It is in a small town, so it is safe, but also it can be boring. The campus is dry, and it is VERY hard to live off campus, due to strict regulations and policies. We have 3 bars/clubs in town and some people will have house parties, other than that… nothing in terms of going out. If you are planning on going to Au, go greek!!! Seriously… my sisters keep me sane. Classes are usually small and the professors have all worked in the field. Like I said, I am an education major and my classes are so helpful! I was in the field observing as a freshman and teaching by sophomore year. 90% of my professors are amazing and extremely helpful and full of advice. The dorms are pretty decent… nothing special, just typical small college rooms. There are singles and suites available, but they are in high demand. Students of junior status are capable of buying out their room, which means they live in a regular room, with no roommate. I bought out my room, and I have to recommend it because I spend so much time in my room, its nice not to have to worry about a roommate. Overall, Au is generally a good school and they care about you as a student and as a person. Yeah, the town sucks, but it is worth it for education majors to check out because we are one of the best in Ohio & the USA. The campus has some weird regulations and that can get annoying, but there is always someone there to help. Also, freshman are allowed to have cars their first year… a rarity among Ohio universities. I really hope this helps! I tried to be honest and neutral.
